    1. Don’t wrap the earphone or any other cord around it.  Cords can scratch the screen and the ear bud may contain germs that can harm the sensitive screen.
    2. Don’t run the battery all the way.  It is okay to do it occasionally, but not always.  Charge the battery before it runs out.
    3. Buy a cover for your device.  The casing will protect it and make it easier to store.
    4. When you clean it, use a damped microfiber, lint free cloth.  Use only water.
    5. Check wires periodically.  Replace any damaged or exposed.
    6. Do not turn your iPod full blast; it may damage the sound quality.  Increase the sound gradually to a desired level.
    7. Warranty that came with your gadget may be limited and covers only few items.  Consider buying an extended warranty that covers hardware and software.

    These few ideas will help you enjoy your gadget longer.

  4. Different Types of Cases for iPods Available Today

    All ipods today are heavily advanced versions of what they were in the past. Though their capabilities have expanded profoundly they still need a case to keep them safe. The huge popularity of ipods has given birth to cases using every form and material available so there is one for everyone.

    The most commonly used cases around today are those made of silicone. There are several varieties of these cases from solid silicone to materials that are easier to grip and flex easily. The fits can be from a cheap Chinese manufacturer or a high quality producer that innovates on the design for better overall functionality. The colors and designs on these cases is different depending on the manufacturer so people with nearly any kind of taste can find one they like. Although these cases seem to offer only minimum protection, the raised edges around the screen and bouncy nature of silicone protect the screen and casing from getting jolted too hard.

    Another type of ipod cases, usually referred to as socks, offer great protection except for one catch. A sock is designed for the device to remain in until it is in operation. These socks are usually made of a very thick layer of fabric to protect the device at all costs. The main disadvantage to these is once the device is being used it is no longer protected from anything until it is placed back in the sock. People that want to protect their device without covering it up will want to take a look at these, but others should look elsewhere for better protection.

    Leather cases are excellent for protecting the entire device when in the pocket without having to add a screen protector. Usually these cases secure the music player with plastic straps and have a flap that folds over the screen when not in use. Though these cases are great for protection from scratches they do not offer very good shock protection for drops.

    The last main kind of ipod and ipod touch cases are hybrid cases. These cases include at least a silicone and plastic layer to further protect the device from being dropped and broken. Most of these case types have a silicone interior layer and a plastic exterior that latches on, but other designs have come about that are the opposite to accommodate a build in screen protector. These cases offer the best protection in most cases for the music player. The main issue with these is they add considerable bulk to the device. This is usually not a big issue, but people that have small pockets may find it uncomfortable to carry around with them every day.

    There are many different types of marine engines.  If you are interested in working with marine engines, you must be able to label a marine outboard parts diagram of an engine.  You can attend a college or other professional or trade school to learn about these types of engines.  If you have a special interest in any one type of boating or boat engines, you can take specialized classes to learn about this specific type.  The trade schools are sponsored by specific companies that produce boats or engines, specifically Mercury marine outboards sponsors one trade school based out of Florida.

     

    If you are interested in learning about boats but do not have the financial capability to attend a four year college, a trade school might be a better idea for you.  Trade schools with teach you all about boats, but you won’t have to take all of the other liberal education requirements that take up a lot of time and credits – and money.  Trade schools are often sponsored by specific companies, and those companies supply the boats and engines on which the students learn to work.  If you do have the financial capacity, a four year college will teach you thing that you cannot learn in a trade school, and it will also give you a chance to experience college life and atmosphere.  Another option for those that do not have the finances is the Coast Guard.

  8. Underground Work: Relying on Downhole Pressure Sensors

    When doing work for gas, oil, or even power companies, a lot of underground measurements are  required and the conditions can get extreme in a very short amount of time. The environment of underground work can be stressful on both the workers and, especially, the equipment. When relying on a downhole pressure sensor , it needs to have longevity, repeatability and stability. The output should not change under constant pressure and temperature. It should be able to repeat the same out conditions when input conditions change. In other words the extreme heat and pressure of the deep underground measurements should not affect the reliability of the sensor.

    A pressure transducer is used, most often, to measure water and gas pressures below ground. Most underground work can be extremely taxing on workers and often fatal, however, with the specialized transducers they are able to stand above ground to take measurements.

    A temperature probe is mostly used for areas in which water is present. By measuring the temperature of water, works are able to find out how deep it is and help navigate their surrounding in that way. Although these probes seem very rugged, they are pretty delicate to certain stimuli including thermally induced noise which can be found in hot climates deep underground, especially present in both the sands and oil industries. This is the cause of failure for many probes so special consideration of this is needed when purchasing probe for these areas of underground atmospheres.
